World's Largest Hotel - Prora Hotel Germany



Stretching for more than 4 km along the sandy beach of the Baltic Sea, the German island of Rugen is the largest hotel in the world. There are 10 000 rooms with windows facing the sea. However, for 70 years from the time of its construction here untouched by the tourist.


The Prora Hotel is huge buildings constructed in the period from 1936 to 1939 by Nazis as part of the Reich strength through joy. The purpose of this hotel - German workers to provide leisure and spread Nazi propaganda. Local residents call the hotel Colossus because of its enormous size.


Today, the hotel is almost never used. In 2001, one unit turned into a youth hostel with 400 seats. Now planned to remake the Prora into a modern resort with 300 beds, which will tennis courts and swimming pool, and a small shopping center.
